Our neighborhood schools make a difference in Central Gardens. They foster friendships and keep communities together in and out of the classroom. Sending your children to a neighborhood school can have large and lasting effects on their lives.
Each month we reach out to the schools to see what wonderful programs and activities they have going on that the neighborhood is invited to.
CGA Residents Invited to ICCS Mindfulness Sessions
Immaculate Conception Cathedral School invites Central Gardens residents to attend Mindfulness for Well-Being Meetings held on the ICCS campus on Tuesdays from 3:45-4:15pm when school is in session. Led by ICCS’s Mindfulness teacher Suzanne Martin ‘78, the meetings are designed to help participants reduce stress and anxiety as well as to develop better concentration skills.
Idlewild Optional Elementary School Playground and Gardens
“Oh the places you will go! There’s fun to be done!” – Dr. Seuss
Do you know about all the places to go and fun to be done at Idlewild Optional Elementary School?
We have two playgrounds to enjoy and two “Kitchen Community Gardens” open to you, our Central Gardens neighbors. Stop by and pick what you need. No worries! Everything is labeled for you. Spring has spring, so please top by during the day, in the evening or on the weekend to use our playgrounds and help harvest our gardens. We have intermediate and primary play areas for your outdoor use. Idlewild has been awarded a national “Kitchen Community Gardens” grant which provides extended learning opportunities for students and faculty. We want to share it with you! What is “Kitchen Community Garden” you ask? It’s a lovely garden full of yummy veggies and herbs. We want you to stop by and enjoy! Have you run out of rosemary? Need some extra lettuce? We have some to spare!
If you are looking for a place to go with lots of fun to be done, look no further than Idlewild Optional Elementary School, 1950 Linden Avenue. We LOVE our neighbors!
